Charles Walters & Co., Inc plays an integral part of manufacturers' and wholesalers success. Our primary duties are to make wholesale and retail buyers and purchasing agents interested in their merchandise and to address any of their clients' questions and concerns.
The process of promoting and selling products can take up to several months. Charles Walters & Co. presents their products to a customer and negotiate the sale. Whether in person or over the phone, we are dedicated in helping throughout every step of the information process and often will immediately answer technical and non-technical questions about the products.
Charles Walters & Co stays abreast of new-to-the-market products and the changing needs of our customers in a variety of ways. We attend trade shows at which new products and technologies are showcased. We also attend conferences and conventions to meet other sales representatives and clients and discuss new product developments.
Obtaining new accounts is an important part of the job for our company. We constantly follow leads from other clients, track advertisements in trade journals, and participate in trade shows and conferences. In addition, we enjoy spending time meeting with and entertaining prospective clients during evenings and weekends.
Charles Walters & Co. have several duties beyond selling products. We analyze sales statistics; prepare reports; and handle administrative duties, such as filing expense accounts, scheduling appointments, and making travel plans. We also read about new and existing products and monitor the sales, prices, and products of their competitors.
Charles Walters & Co. employee staff work in both inside sales and outside "field" sales. Through our inside sales program, we spend a lot of time on the phone, taking orders and resolving any problems or complaints about the merchandise. Our outside sales representatives spend much of their time traveling to and visiting with current clients and prospective buyers. Given that a number of manufacturers and wholesalers sell similar products, Charles Walters & Co. focuses on continually emphasizing any unique qualities our products have over competitors.
Charles Walters & Co. are the direct factory representatives for multiple manufacturers of specialty building products for the construction industry. Over the years we have been very careful to choose only manufacturers with "top quality" products. Our territory, for most of our manufacturers, mainly includes all of the State of Alabama. See our "PRODUCTS" site which lists all the manufacturers, the areas we cover for each, and the specific products available from them. If the customer is in our territory, we can sell the job regardless of where the job is located. Although we concentrate heavily on commercial construction, we do a good amount of business on the residential side with our Naturlite skylights and Babcock-Davis access doors.
