Preconstruction Planning

We are full service providers and our job begins at the infancy of a project by meeting with architects and specifying engineers in developing the concept along with the general contractors. We play a key role in getting our commercial products into the specifications, and in turn working with contractors and/or installers to align into their strict construction schedules. We take great pleasure in educating customers and specifying engineers in what we recommend, in terms of our product portfolio, to aid in overall design, function, safety standards of each unique project.

Estimating / Job Take-Offs

We work hand-in-hand with general contractors and installers by providing job take-offs, bundling prices of multiple products in the project for maximum discounts, and quick turnaround submittal process to make sure products are quoted and submitted in timely manner and strictly adhering to the specifications and requirements. In addition, we act as the interface to value engineer prices, when necessary, to make sure we are competitive without comprising our high quality standards in product portfolio.

Project Management

We pride ourselves on white-glove service and always being accessible. Our service does not conclude after our commercial building products are installed successfully. We stand behind our products 100% and if an issue does arise after installation, we are onsite to analyze and correct the issue in most quick, cost effective way. We act as the interface between the contractor/installers and the manufacturer and take pride in making sure our customers our happy (and worry free!) about our commitment to our lead times and high quality, defect free, aesthetically pleasing products.

We play an integral part of manufacturer's and contractor's success in getting products to job sites in the the right time, 100% accurate, and meeting or exceeding specifications. Our primary duties are to make general contractors, installers, and purchasing agents interested in our commercial building products and address any technical questions.

The process of promoting and selling our building products is what we take pride in the most. Charles Walters & Co. educate consumers in overall cost savings and quality of products and negotiate the sale. Whether in person or over the phone, we are dedicated in helping throughout every step of the information process and immediately answer technical and non-technical questions about the products being used in the construction project.

We stay abreast of new-to-the-market products and the changing needs of our customers in a variety of ways. We attend trade shows at which new products and technologies are showcased. We also attend conferences and conventions to meet other sales representatives and clients and discuss new product developments and how we can help our clients in both competencies and competitive pricing.

Obtaining new accounts is an important part of the job for our company. We constantly follow leads, track advertisements in trade journals, and participate in trade shows and conferences. In addition, we enjoy spending time meeting with and entertaining prospective clients during evenings and weekends.

Charles Walters & Co. are the manufacturer representatives for multiple manufacturers of specialty building products for the construction industry and have long lasting relationships lasting decades. Over the years we have been very careful to choose only manufacturers with benchmark products. Our territory, for most of our manufacturers, mainly includes all of the State of Alabama. Acutherm
Founded in 1978, Acutherm designs, manufactures and distributes a line of modular VAV systems and thermally powered VAV diffusers for use in HVAC systems. Acutherm maintains its own R&D and manufacturing facilities in order to have total control over product quality. This policy has made Acutherm the decisive leader in the VAV diffuser market.

Alpar
Alpar Architectural Products newly introduced wall and corner guards and sheet wall protection made from deTerra bio-based polymer compound. A sustainable alternative to PVC, deTerra bio-polymer is 90% bio-based, meets Class 1 requirements for flame spread, smoke density and exceeds the impact and flexural strength of PVC compounds generally used for wall protection. In addition to our polymer handrails, crash rails, corner guards and sheet wall protection, Alpar offers a range of aluminum and stainless steel products.

Arden Architectural
Arden Architectural Specialties Inc. was incorporated in 1987 as a manufacturer of entrance mats and grates. We soon expanded into Wallwear, integrated wall protection, and stair nosings. Barco
Established in 1975, Barco has a proud history of supplying metal access doors to the construction industry. Used as a means to inspect, service, and gain access to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical connections etc., BARCO doors are designed for installation in most types of wall and ceiling construction including acoustical tile, plaster, drywall, ceramic tile etc. Popular sizes are in stock for immediate shipment, and custom orders are always welcome. Raw materials are maintained so that we can meet your delivery requirements. Steel frames and door material meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM - A366, cold rolled steel. Doors are shipped with one shop coat of gray primer, or prime painted per your specifications.

Creative Metals
All of the products in the Leader Dampers & Louvers division are sold through a nation wide network of manufacturer's representatives in pre-established sales territories. We are constantly on the lookout for representation in select areas. Intertec
